HOLY FREAKING CRAP, THAT EPISODE WAS THE MOST FUNNIEST THING EVERRRRR
xDDDDDDDDD
Sokka- "zomg, is this the FUTURE?!?!"
Man!Toph- "SONIC BOOM!!!"
Katara- "IT GAVE ME SO MUCH HOPE T____T"
Iroh- "Zuko, we REALLY need to do something about your hair!"
Toph- "That's how I show affection"
XD That was hardly a QUARTER of the moments where I laughed until I cried.
The episode was amazing. It poked SO MUCH fun at the fans that I just DIED of laughter
I was so incredibly sad for Aang during that moment he had with Katara, and even sadder when she ran out on him like that, but like you guys all said, it has to get worse for them before it gets better... and I just know it's going to get better
However, not all of the play was hilarious... I mean, Katara and Zuko doing the tango during the crossroads of destiny parody was FUNNYYYY- but when the play came around to the 'future', that was actually kinda jarring... D= Zuko and Aang get killed, by the two people they fear most. Zuko by Azula, a fight he's never won before, and same goes for Aang dying by the hand of Ozai. They were both affected by that scene, and it was kind of chilling. You could tell they were both wondering if what they were witnessing was possibly their destined fates...
But still, AWESOME EPISODE
Alright everyone; this is it. This is the end. The moment we've all been waiting for. Oh my god has being an Avatard totally shaken my world apart and changed me. It's going to be such an amazing moment when the movie finally ends, and the show is finally totally over. Finally... complete.
And I just can't wait to rejoice over the gAang's and especially Aang's triumph.... it's such a generic phrase by now, but I just have to say this- it's going to be epic
"...nice costume, but your scar's on the wrong side."
LMFAOOOO.
[EDIT1: avatarchapters.org seems to be back and running again so I decided to rewatch TSR- it crashed and burned last night while thousands of people across the world tried desperately to get through to watch the uploaded vid. If you wanna watch online, I strongly recommend an alternative method- go read
Anyway LOL the avatarchapters video was, unfortunately, cut off at the end, too... I'm sorry, but I find it hilarious that the part they skipped was the hug xD.
Anyway, I'm feeling loads better after watching it. And now I feel like everything Aang said sounded hardly silly at all! I was able to actually properly focus on his face as he spoke this time, and it seemed like everything he spoke, he spoke from the heart. And when Katara was leaving, she actually thanked Aang for understanding! I didn't see that part when I first watched this- Nickelodean had a hiccup and even though I saw the visuals, there was no sound!
And LULLZ the Sukka scenes <3 awesome every single time!
Anyway, get ready for The Ember Island Players tonight- it's going to be a HOOT!!
-
First of all...
SOKKA AND SUKI, LMFAOOOOOOOOO!!!
And now, on to the rest of the eppy.
xD Glad Zutarians out there enjoyed the connection between Katara and Zuko so much, but I have to say the way Katara acted was just... woah.
I mean, Zuko is Zuko, and helping her hunt down the man who killed her mother in order to gain some respect in her eyes and her trust is exactly the sort of thing he'd do (lol, sounds familiar... the need to get his honor back, and willing to do anything for it?). But Katara actually seemed almost OOC, wanting to kill?
We all thought we knew what she was capable of, we've seen her fight and pwn pretty much everyone she's faced, but this episode showed us a side of her we've never seen before. It showed us a scarier side that I, for one, almost didn't really want to see because she started that journey prepared to take someone's life as her revenge. And the way she acted like such a bitch towards Sokka... that was completely unexpected. It was hurtful and wrong of her to even say such a thing... the look of pain on his face after hearing her made me want to magically summon Toph into the scene to slap Katara back to reality and remind her she was talking to her brother. ;_; This eppy definitely needed more Toph </3...
Also- and I'm not just saying this in relation to ships or anything- the way she immediately brushed Aang aside saying she had been sure he wouldn't understand... that was totally unlike her. She was THERE when Aang suffered through losing Appa and Monk G, she was the one who brought him back from his enraged state when it all happened! And then for her to go and say all those things to Aang during this episode...
But anyway I suppose the only reason could pretty much be her anger and grief over her mother's death, although I still was pretty shocked at her behaviour
Also, the fact that Zuko was so gung-ho for taking out the guy... that, I know, was something he'd totally do- yet I'd expected him to at least be a little more sensitive about it, and a little less mean about what Aang was saying, after all he's learned from Uncle Iroh's teachings. I immediately thought of Iroh when Aang spoke about nonviolence being the best way, and forgiveness being the hardest course to take. Yet that didn't seem to occur to Zuko at all. All he had to say to Aang after that was that it wasn't school time anymore. So I was a tad disappointed in Zuko there... I think his transformation isn't quite complete yet...
Just like Aang, Zuko still has a lot to learn.
Finally, the Ember Island Players preview.
It really emphasized to me how much he and Katara need to work out this relationship they have. He also needs to realize he can't just go assuming they're 'boyfriend and girlfriend' -for lack of better terms to use- as yet, because what they have is turning out to be so much more complicated. I think age will turn out to be a major factor for Katara if she does end up turning him down in tonight's episode. I also think there's a high chance she's going to find out the real reason tonight as to why Aang hasn't been able to enter the Avatar State.
... I also think she's going to end up being the one to hurt Aang, and when she realizes this, I know she'll feel worse than she's ever felt before; because she will have done the one thing she swore she'd never let happen to Aang. Anyone remember our favorite line of hers, at the end of The Western Air Temple? Yeah. The irony, I think, might end up happening in tonight's episode and if it does I have a feeling it'll really have a huge toll on Katara.
Do I sound Zutarian?
Zuko raised the most important question of all at the end of last night's episode... what is Aang going to do when he faces the Fire Lord? After everything he said in TSR about striving to keep from violence?
Well, I have an answer for that one. I believe in Aang (LOL yeah, I need a life, but he's still one of the best fictional characters ever
K, people, discuss~!

The Sukka thing...Disturbing XD
I have lost some respect for Katara when she spoke to Sokka about not loving Hiya (or what it spelled like). Poor Sokka.,
I don't think though that Aang sees him and Katara as boyfriend girlfriend. He knows. I have a theory. The whole "I thought we were gonna be togther" comes after he kisses her. To proove to her that he means buisness, and that he won't be seen as a little brother.
Cheers. We wait for the episode. The last before the comet arrives.

Yeah, when Katara spoke to Sokka, I was thinking- what? Where did that come from? =/
And I sorely hope your theory becomes reality
x3 K... and I'm scared. The LAST before the comet? SCAREEEDDDD. I have to find a life before the end of the show, or I am so going into depression

I mean you said the truth, the way she acted toward Aang and Sokka, It was completely not like her!
I mean, I think what started the whole thing was what happened when Azula started attacking everyone. When Katara realized she and her brother would have to split apart from their dad again she said, "No! The fire nation can't seperate our family again!" That brought back feelings of the first time they seperated her family, like when the fire nation killed her mom. So I think she was just really angry and upset and scared when she talked to Aang and Sokka like that. But that still gave her no right. It was completely not like her to want to kill someone for her own revenge. I mean, everyone has some sort of family! Even if she kills one horrible man she might have hurt the man's children, wife, or mom. And all that just for her revenge. And if she had killed him, she would have been doing the same thing that he did to her mom.
But for some reason she connected what happened with her mom with Zuko. I don't really know why... I guess just two things that really upset her. And honestly, I don't think this episode was Zutara filled. This episode wasn't about Zutara, it was about forgiveness and trust. It was about Katara realizing that people CAN change no matter how many mistakes they have made in the past. And I loved this episode... it showed the two different sides of Katara, her extremely angry and dare I say b*tchy (I hate to cuss... >.>
And I know, most of you are probably thinking "HOW COULD THIS REPLY GET MUCH LONGER!!!!'
But, I still have more to discuss... LOL
The first time I saw the finale trailor when Katara refused Aang's kiss, I thought, I bet he told her why he can't go in to the avatar state anymore! Really, what I think is going to happen is that Aangs gonna be like, "But I thought we would be together." And then go on in to explaining how he chose her over the avatar state. And then he would try to kiss her, but she would back away and act all surprised. Then she would get upset because she would feel like she was interfearing with his destiny.
Wow... that was one long message... I should have written this in my journal... but it's much for fun to discuss and spazz with others!

And the "but it's much for fun"
is supposed to be it's much more fun...
Ugh, typos!

My boyfriend and I kept commenting on how Katara has changed tremendously in just the last few episodes. I love katara but...at the moment she's annoying me just a tad bit, and I actually think it has to do with Aand... she's trying to appread far more mature than she really is by pushing him to lean his firebending... and trying to NOT think of the kiss they had before the invasion.
I was also laughing (and twitching) and the idea of teh Zutara fans cheering during this episode XD
Yeah... I'm all for having your favorite pairings and such but when people parade their favorite ships around and such and are downright mean to other ships, I just tend to get annoyed.
I see it happening with Avatar, it's reminding me of the whole Harry Potter/ Hermione Granger shipping war a few years back XD
I won't be able to see tonight's episode until much later...oh darn you, stupid work T_T

Originality is love. Don't be afraid to be yourself. When you stumble along in someone else's shadow, you'll never be seen at all.
I agree... Kataang will happen... but it's going to get worse before it gets better...
I avoided the internet last night just because I didn't want to end up hunting down Zutarians...

And even more strange was the fact that that thought didn't occur to Katara- the fact that by killing the man, someone else would be hurt the same way she was so many years ago- Katara, the most sensitive about emotions in the whole gAang.
As for connecting her pain to Zuko- I think she just blamed it on the fact that he's from the Fire Nation, and when he wasn't busy hunting Aang and the gang down throughout all of Book 1 and most of Book 2, he was betraying her after she was the first person she ever trusted. She connected the previous frustration Zuko caused to the gang with her own hurt feelings when he betrayed her just minutes after gaining her trust.
But yeah, I still loved this episode dearly... it really was very jarring.
As for the kiss... I honestly don't know what to think of it anymore. I know full well that Bryan and Mike looove ship-baiting, and I love that too because that's what makes things so hilarious and enjoyable, but seeing the look on Aangs face just got me down
I'm really looking forward to it though- when Aang finally reveals the secret. That is going to be one seriously emotionaly charged moment

And it is true... Katara's been trying to take on a whole lot of weight, and really it's only because she really wants things to work out and Aang to succeed. I think she's been so busy worrying about that, and then even more frustrate that Zuko joined the gAang, that she didn't realize that the issues were a burden that could be shared within the group, not to be taken solely upon her own shoulders.
LOL I totally laughed when Zuko was on top of Katara at the beginning of the episode because I thought of the Zutarians and how this ep would pretty much be a field day for them. That screeny's gonna be everywhere in no time, lmao. xD Too bad Katara found Zuko's heroics totally disgusting.
Hehe, and aww, sucks you have to wait a while, but it'll all be worth it when you finally get to see it
