A late Half Blood Prince review!
I watched the movie on the second day after it's opening, but just didn't have the same excitement about writing up the review for it. Loved the movie in general, but I thought the beginning and end was pulled off rather half-heartedly.
My favorite scene from the whole movie was the lake scene. Best. Ever. It was so incredibly well done, dare I say even better than what I had imagined from the book?
Tom Riddle was eeeerieeee
Ron's role in this movie made me so much happier- no longer the OOC cranky guy from book 5! Alas, things will probably change for Deathly Hallows, then.
Hermione's anxiousness over Ron's sudden girl-popularity was hilarious.
Harry drunk off of Felix was HILARIOUSSSS. I CRIED WITH LAUGHTER.
"HI!"
I love book Ginny/Harry WAY better than what was done in the movie. Waaay too weird how she kept doing him these favors... first, feeding him, then tying his shoe laces for him... running around in her bathrobe... it freaks me out.
I loved the movie in general, though. Quite disappointed they didn't include Dumbledore's funeral! Or the Occlumency lessons. "No need to say SIR, professor."
And the scene where Greyback and Bellatrix show up at the Weaseley's?
COMPLETELY DIDN'T HAPPEN THAT WAY IN THE BOOK.
The Weaseleys' house is supposed to be under five gazillion spells by the Order to make it untraceable, which is why it's always been safe for Harry to hang there. But toootally randomly somehow halfway through the movie Bellatrix and Greyback (of all the people to team up in a duo) suddenly storm in, provoke people at random and then set the house on fire -______- siiiiiiigh.
This does not bode well for the next movie. I've a feeling they'll be cutting Bill and Fleur's wedding out or something now that the house is charring. Sure, it can be fixed, but it'd be strange since the Weaseleys are supposed to be rather poor.
I think the only reason they threw that fight in is because they completely cut out the professors VS death eaters fight that happens at the end of the book. Which was sad, because Neville was so awesome in those. EVERYONE was awesome in those, and I simply LOVED Ginny's awesomeness in that scene... but nooo, they decided to cut that out too.
Draco Malfoy... my goodness, I cried at Dumbledore's falling, but I think Malfoy almost outdid that one. Almost. Seeing him cry like that at the mirror was exactly the way I imagined. Which made it all the more heart-breaking to see it happening before my eyes rather than having to imagine it from reading the book.
There was a complete lack of Neville in this movie

I really did enjoy it though. It's re-lit my fire to knit a hogwarts scarf and I'm thinking i'll go ahead and make the complete outfit and be the Griffindor Patel sister for the opening night of the final movie(s). After which I'm making a Slytherin scarf because Slytherin is the best house XD

But overall, I wasn't as thrilled with this movie as the others. A few parts were extremely well done, such as the lake scene, the Tom Riddle flashbacks, and everything with Malfoy in general.
But my biggest problem is from the excess OMG ROMANCE COMEDY AND DRAMA. Sure, it was funny in a few places, and I can understand it where it was useful to the plot- e.g. Romilda Vane's chocolates. Lavender Brown was funny but her character was too over the top, which annoyed me. I don't remember her being that way in the book. And I don't remember Ginny and Harry's relationship being so... I dunno, ridiculous? That's how it came across, too open and funny and not subtle enough for me.
Dumbledore's death scene was well done as well, but way too short. I think they should have cut some of the comedic stuff and put more drama into the ending. It seemed to have been cut too short. What they had was very well done, I just would have rather had more of that than all the silly stuff.
Also, like many people have mentioned, there was a sad lack of Snape in this movie. I wanted more of a final confrontation between Harry and Snape, and just more Snape in general.

History- write a kataang story during a time in history, such as Titanic, Civil War and you can you don't have to be exact.
Loss- one of the two dies and the other has to move on
